ALL STATE CONSTRUCTION is proud to be the Mechanical Contractor for Shawmut Construction on the Sacred Heart project, creating a new three story residence hall! See article below.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Shawmut Design and Construction, a $1.2 billion national construction management firm, has begun a new phase of construction on Sacred Heart University’s new residence hall.

“We are excited to work on Sacred Heart’s newest residence hall,” said Ken Procino, Connecticut regional director, in a press release. “We love the opportunity to work with universities and contribute to the student and faculty experience, and cannot wait to have this hall ready for the Sacred Heart class of 2020.”

The residence hall, which will accommodate 216 students, is scheduled to be completed by April. Designed to be a center for both living and learning, the first floor will include a fitness room, lounges and conference and administrative spaces.

Shawmut’s work on the three-story building will provide the students with a space for both educational and social activities, according to a press release. The new phase of work involves structural steel erection, followed by the erection of the first floor precast plank, and also includes the pouring of foundations and constructing masonry walls.

To date, Shawmut’s work on the 87,000-square-foot residence hall has included construction of two residential wings that will accommodate 216 students.

To complement the adjacent College of Business, the exterior of the residence hall will be primarily glass, brick and copper siding and roofing.
